There be lovely countryside here and plenty of them there kangaroos.

Ah and now we do be by the sea. They do call this the Great Ocean Road and to me it baint much different from the coast round our way just more folk from foreign parts.

We do get on this ’ere ferry. I can’t see no one rowing and it has no sails but it do take us across the water and then we do be on another

No one has got any nets out, what sort of fishermen be these? Now that there Janet she be swimmin’ about with them seals. Bit bigger than the seals down ’ome. Ours be pesky things and do eat all my fish but she don’t seem to be fishin’.

They do be mighty keen on the scenery this ’ere Janet and Chris. When is one of them goin’ to do an honest day’s work? They be lookin’ at
penguins then more of them there koalas – no foxes for me to trap though. I did see a few rabbits and think they’d be nice for the pot but they baint catching them neither.

Now we be at a place called Sovereign Hill and this do look more my sort of place. It be full of miners – bit like them that work at great
Consuls down Tavistock Way.

There be some red coats about with news of the war out east. I do well remember the Crimea when I was in me prime. Not that I did go you unnerstan’ too busy with me fishin’.

I be leavin’ Janet and Chris at last I do be given this nice meal by Pam and Brian. She be cookin’ cod. I do catch plenty of that.

Now I be happy, there be a river and boats.

These be paddle steamers just like they P & A Campbell steamers that do bring trippers to Clovelly from South Wales and Ilfracombe. Us with the fishing boats, we do fetch the posh folk from the boats like The Bristol Queen and do bring ‘em ashore. Oft times they do slip and get their feet wet and we do laugh. There be things ‘ere that my 3 x great grandson do say be from history but they look modern to me. Tractors and such, new fangled pointless inventions. There be an ‘orseless carriage called a Dodge.

I take a ride on a horse and cart – now that do be more like it.

I see some ’andsome pictures on this ’ere stereoscopic theatre. Views of up Lunnon way and such.

called Forbes.

Cor it be flat here, like being out to sea in me boat. I can see for miles. This be what they do call the Mid-Western Highway and we are
going to a place called Hay.

No soon as we do be one place then we do be off to the next. Today I seen strange critters called emus and some kangaroos.

Well today even me companions found the traveling odd. Give me a good Bucks Ledge Boat any day.

We did go on this thing called a skyway, way
above the Jamison Valley. www.scenicworld.com.au

That be a bit like my name that do. Then we went for a good walk through the Blue
Mountains National Park and I did see these ’ere big rocks called the three sisters.

Back across the valley on the skyway.

And then on what they did say were a funicular railway. All I know it be mighty steep. My young 3 x great grandson he say they do ’ave one at Lynton and Lynmouth now down ’ome.

I can’t get used ter all these newfangled ways of gettin’ around. Now we do be livin’ in a small shack called a camper van but it do have
wheels and it do get us around too. Not even any ’orses.

We did see some very strange animals – nowt like the seals round Lundy. http://www.koalaparksanctuary.com.au/myweb2/default.htm
I did ’ere tells of these ’ere kangaroo things when my nephew James did write. ’E be a good boy, ’e do write every couple o year, though ’e be in New Zealand now not Australia. He did go out to Australia first on The Surprise, it belonged to his dad Joe, and he took shoes out from Bideford for all them as ’ad gone Down Under.
